If you enjoy the T-Rex stew. His chugging guitar, warbling vocals, cosmic cool lyrics, lady lush background vocals and strings with bits of psychedelic production. Then you can’t do wrong with any song on this album or The Slider.

Fell in love with this album when I bought it by accident. Didn't realize until I had it opened and on the turntable that the song I bought it for was on the other T-Rex album that was available at the time. So, the next payday I bought Slider, to go along with my accidental copy of Electric Warrior. They're both great albums.

Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford fell into the Phil Collins trap as this whole album should just have been a Phil Collins solo album and never associated with Genesis

This album and it's follow up The Slider are examples of True Rock And Roll. Raw!

Quiet opener with, as you noted, a lot of subtlety. Not the best track on the album, but the first song so seldom is - must be something they teach in "An introduction to album production 101".

If you don't want to enter the dance floor on this track you must be dead! I still remember when that album was released - I've been around 22 these days

What a wonderful song to start off the Electric Warrior album. Lots of great songs on the album, it's amazing!

Genesis cranked out a lot of turds in the eighties. I was there! Abacab was the last decent album they made before they decided to just churn out top 40 garbage. I blame Phil Collins. Most of his solo pop hits are just unlistenable. My friends and I could never figure out why his stuff was so popular. It was just awful.

When i was in my first year of college i went to my first ever house party and this guy kept hitting on me and telling me to put my music on aux and i panicked and put act IV scene III spaceship from eotb on and like, ran around and needless to say i was never invited to these people's house ever again

Howie and Mark from The Turtles coloring with background vocals. I love this whole album. The follow-up, The Slider is also very good, but this is the one that left the mark.

No doubt this live version is even better than the original album version, just like most of Rory's stuff. My dad used to say "You'll never hear Rory play a song live the same way more than once. Was always improvising on the fly. Check out as the crow flies from the same live album (Irish tour 74) Just Rory doing acoustic solo. He was my dads hero, and in turn became my hero when it comes to guitar players/blues music.

My favorite T-Rex song is 20th Century Boy. It's also one of my all-time favorites. I can't recommend it enough. it rocks!

It's a classic T. Rex album, JP. Produced beautifully by Tony Visconti, it's a great listen. Marc's lyrics are mostly poetry, mostly. He loved to use fantastical imagery mixed with romantic musings. Syd Barrett was an influence, lyrically but his musical influences were in '50's and '60's Rock'nRoll, eg. Eddie Cochran, et al. It's a heady mix, for sure. Hope you continue with this album because I think you'll dig it.

I appreciate the rhythm section of "Mambo Sun" and the rest, but that's it, because the song itself has no development and goes round in circles, and for me that's a bit of a problem, because most of T. Rex's songs all sound more or less the same.

After later Mott The Hoople, T. Rex is my favorite of the glam rock bands / artists. Marc died way too young. I remember crying when his death was announced in Circus magazine. Speaking of Mott, how about some more? "Golden Age Of Rock & Roll", "Marionette", "Sucker", "Violence", basically anything.

That's the good stuff 🙂

Another great song by Steely Dan. They always put out great catchy jazzy type songs that I just love! The Fez is awesome....so is the album.

Completely unknown to me and not particularly groundbreaking, that was really quite good. Yes, there were hints of various other prog bands (PFM in particular) but really, nothing to dislike. The vocals and guitar shone for me but the other instruments played their part. I see that it was a 1983 release so probably at least 8 years too late to really grab a big prog audience but this merits a few more listens. Thanks for choosing this one and thanks for recommending it, Brazilian peeps!

Terrific album, when I first heard it I had to have it only to find that it's very expensive. It's now the most expensive record in my collection, I bought it straight from Brazil and It's well worth it.

Muito obrigado amigo. I believe that is a Portuguese guitar (sort of a cross of a mandolin and a guitar that resembles a Balilika). Thanks for this from a Canadian living in Portugal.

Your pronunciation instincts sound like they're improving, to me. Getting good even. I think you're allowed to get stuck on Portuguese. Portuguese is difficult. (I think Brazilian Portuguese is a bit more forgiving, because it's pronounced a bit more "American Spanish" (or so I've heard - and also sometimes, so I've heard). I think an "s" not at the beginning of a sentence is generally a "sh" in either form (but it's difficult). Start calling it "PooRtooGesh", and wrong though this almost certainly is, at least it it beginsh to pin down thoshe sh'sh. So you have "daPoySH doo feem" as a different approx, here. (Until someone who speaksh Poortugesh stepsh in to help make adjustmentsh). Great find, anyway. So far it's just what I needed to hear ... twenty years ago actually - with repetition. Oh, one thing where spelling can catch one. Here the Portuguese folk call themselves Pora (with a rolled R). I went through a phase of writing that as "porra" - to "roll the rrrr". You can ask a Portuguese friend to tell you why that's not perfectly correct.
